About The Position

This position involves providing direct patient care to a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatric to geriatric, within a surgical environment. The role requires addressing the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of patient care related to surgical procedures. The RN will maintain continuous communication with the surgeon and anesthesiologist/anesthetist regarding the patient's condition. Key responsibilities also include assisting with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory, ensuring the operating room is properly equipped and ready, procuring necessary supplies for individual cases, and meeting all requirements of the surgical operating team. Additionally, the RN will monitor, position, and assist patients throughout procedures.

Requirements

• At least one to two years of nursing experience.
• Maintains a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
• BLS/CPR required.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of employment.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Nice To Haves

• Expertise in Operating Room and PACU preferred.
• Additional language and basic computer knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, positions and assist patient during procedures.
