About The Position

The RN PACU position at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center involves providing direct nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in accordance with established hospital policies and protocols. The role requires collaboration with the clinical team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients recovering from surgery. The position emphasizes the importance of hemodynamic and airway management, discharge planning, and patient education.

Requirements

• Current license from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact license with eligibility to practice in Virginia.
• ADN degree (BSN preferred).
• Current BLS, PALS, & ACLS certification.
• Two years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience or one year of Medical/Surgical nursing and one year of Critical Care nursing (may include ED).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in the PACU unit according to established policies and procedures.
• Work closely with the clinical team to create and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Demonstrate knowledge and competency in hemodynamic and airway management of patient care.
• Perform clinical management of patient care according to PACU standards for all surgical procedures.
• Conduct discharge planning and provide patient education to patients and their families.
