About the position
The RN - PACU position at Memorial Hermann Health System in Sugar Land involves providing high-quality nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
- Coordinate the planning for nursing care delivery with an interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with and direct the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Coordinate treatment plans and develop/implement discharge and transfer plans.
- Participate in ongoing evaluation of programs and process improvements for client-centered outcomes.
- Consider diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care to optimize the patient experience.
- Adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
- Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors while managing resources effectively.
- Promote individual professional growth and development through continuing education and skills competency.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
- Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
- Certified in Basic Life Support.
- Previous PACU experience, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center, or several years of ICU experience at a Level 1 trauma center.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
