About The Position

The Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-center care within the Medical Group. Demonstrates knowledge of the nursing process as a standard, the RN collaborates with providers, interdisciplinary teams, and patients to assess, plan, and implement and evaluate safe and effective care. Provide direct and indirect patient care in the clinical setting under the direction of the Practice Administrator or designee, and the Clinic Coordinator, and Providers. This role includes patient education, triage, disease management, and care coordination while adhering to best practices and regulatory guidelines. This role requires strong clinical and communication skills to ensure the provision of quality care. All staff is considered to be an employee of St. Peter’s Health Medical Group first. Because of this, there is an expectation that they may float to other SPHMG areas when not needed in assigned area.

Requirements

  • Sufficient care experience to demonstrate ability as an Ambulatory Staff RN (job specific).
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Must demonstrate maturity in judgment, demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing environments, recognize and assist where help is needed.
  • Graduate of accredited professional school of nursing.
  • Nurses involved in the care of orthopedic and spine patients must adhere to defined educational and competency requirements in compliance with DNV Orthopedic and Spine certification.
  • Nurses providing care to orthopedic and spine patients must complete specialty-specific education and validate competency annually.
  • Nurses are expected to participate in continuing education activities relevant to orthopedic and spine care, including updates on clinical guidelines, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Current Montana License as a Certified Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or patients.
  • Ability to conduct self professionally, including but not limited to: interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations.
  • Open to feedback, and open to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Nursing Specialty, Orthopedics or Ambulatory Care preferred.
