About The Position

The AGH Ortho Unit is a 44-bed unit specializing in Ortho/Trauma, Joint replacement, Spinal and cervical fusions, and higher acuity Neuro necks and backs. Allegheny General Hospital is a Level I Shock Trauma Center with 5 state-of-the-art ICUs, a state-of-the-art Cancer Center, and over 550 beds. The role involves being responsible and accountable for a designated patient population, providing care based upon the enactment of the nursing process. This includes demonstrating clinical assessment and care planning skills, providing safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements, and professionally directing and managing the activities of patient care delivery by team members. The RN collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge and assesses learning needs of patients and families, providing education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.

Requirements

  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • CPR certification.
  • Minimum one year RN experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 1st preference to employee on current night schedule on unit.
  • 2nd preference to employee on current unit.

Responsibilities
