About The Position

Join our not-for-profit organization that has provided over 100 years of housing and services to seniors with a commitment to quality care and service in a Christian environment. We are looking for either an LPN or RN for a full-time night shift position at the GSS SD Canistota Center in Canistota, SD. The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to residents, collaborating with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care. The RN will also care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment, and may serve as charge nurse, delegating tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel as appropriate.

Requirements

• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
• Obtain and maintain required department specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a nursing role within a senior care environment.
• Knowledge of the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to residents.
• Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, and provide resident education.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Ensure safe and reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns.
