About The Position

Seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to serve in a flex float position at Oak Crossing, Essentia Health's highly rated long-term care facility in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. This RN or LPN works a flexible schedule including day, evening, and night shifts. A generous hourly premium is available to this flexible employee: $3 hourly for LPN and $5 hourly for RN, in addition to any shift premiums paid. Weekend and holiday rotations are required. RNs qualify for a sign-on bonuses and relocation assistance as well.

Requirements

  • Current nursing licensure in the state of Minnesota upon hire.
  • AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month of hire.
  • Education as required for licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in long-term care or nursing home settings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for organizing and providing care to residents through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions.
  • Contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meets the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of primarily elderly patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.
  • Works both cooperatively and independently, to work efficiently under stress.
