The Department of General and Specialized Surgery evaluates and treats common and complex conditions affecting the abdomen, gastrointestinal system and breasts. Our experienced caregivers are skilled in minimally invasive methods, including robotic-assisted and laparoscopic surgeries. As an RN in this unit, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional medical attention to patients. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN).
