Job Summary The RN Circulator provides direct perioperative nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This role supports surgical procedures by coordinating patient care, maintaining a safe and sterile operating environment, and communicating continuously with surgeons and anesthesia providers.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arkansas or compact state.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical services or perioperative nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year of hire.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
CNOR certification.
Experience with arterial lines, spinal and epidural catheters.

Responsibilities

Provide direct perioperative nursing care and patient advocacy throughout surgical procedures.
Assess patients preoperatively and intraoperatively, identifying and responding to physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
Communicate patient condition and changes to surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members.
Prepare, clean, and maintain operating room suites before, between, and after procedures.
Ensure surgical equipment, supplies, and instruments are available, functional, and properly handled.
Maintain surgical asepsis and infection control standards at all times.
Safely position patients and protect bony prominences during procedures.
Administer medications and parenteral fluids per hospital policies.
Monitor patient responses to medications and document appropriately.
Coordinate patient and family education related to surgical care.
Participate in performance improvement activities, continuing education, and required in-services.
