About The Position

This position provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations, addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. The role involves continuous communication with the surgeon and anesthesiologist/anesthetist regarding patient condition, assisting with surgical equipment maintenance and inventory, and ensuring the operating room is ready with appropriate equipment and supplies for individual cases. The RN - OR Circulator also monitors, positions, and assists patients during procedures.

Requirements

• At least one to two years of nursing experience.
• Maintains a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
• BLS required.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of employment.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Nice To Haves

• Expertise in Operating Room and PACU preferred.
• Additional language and basic computer knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory.
• Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met.
• Monitors, positions and assist patient during procedures.
