About The Position

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital. Spencer Hospital Surgery Center performs a multitude of specialties including: general, orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology, ENT, and endoscopy averaging 550+ surgeries per month. Surgery business hours are Mon-Fri with minimal on call weekend and holiday rotations.

Requirements

• One year experience as an Surgery RN Circulator required
• Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
• IA RN license or Multistate BLS and ACLS are required or at time of hire (in-house education provided)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the Operating Room area
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care
• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients
