About the position

The Nursing Technician I - Registered provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN. This role involves gathering information about the patient, administering and documenting nursing care including taking vital signs, and observing signs and symptoms of disease/illness. The technician assists patients in activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, eating, basic hygiene, and mobility (ambulating, turning, positioning, and range of motion). Additionally, the technician completes bedside testing of blood glucose monitoring, Hemocult screening, specific gravity, and other procedures. They are also responsible for changing dressings, performing urinary catheterization, and other treatments and procedures in accordance with formal training received through the Nursing degree program, as delegated by the RN.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Registered Nurse Bachelor of Science Degree Program or a Registered Nurse Associate Degree Program, with completion of at least one clinical component.
  • Licensure as a Nursing Technician-Registered by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) required before beginning employment.
