This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful St. Lucie River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home. A Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at Cleveland Clinic Martin North circulates a large variety of surgical cases in the 8-suite Operating Room Department, including general, thoracic, robotics, and cardiovascular, following established standards, department guidelines and hospital policies and procedures. The opportunity to be trained as a scrub nurse is available. The RN will use their strong assessment and critical thinking skills to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide the best outcomes for each patient. This role plays an integral part in ensuring patient advocacy and safety. Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• One year of current RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Periop 101 or validated OJT for the operating room setting

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Two years of OR experience OR completion of an Operating Room residency program

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
