Requirements

  • Associate's of Nursing Required
  • Bachelor's of Nursing Preferred
  • One or more years of Work Experience Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) Required
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) Required

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) Preferred
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) Preferred
  • As defined by specialty area Preferred
  • Academic Administration\E-Learning Instructional Design Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
  • Assess patient needs, plan and implement appropriate interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort through continuous monitoring and effective communication with the surgical team.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to refine and implement the patient's plan-of-care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a group of caregivers.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the surgical team.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to prescribed protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress continuously, adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Document patient care activities meticulously to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
  • Advocate for patient safety by identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures.
  • Maintain sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infection.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions such as IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
  • Provide emotional and physical support to patients and their families during recovery.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality, safety, and efficiency.
