About The Position

ATC Healthcare is seeking a flexible and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Arlington, Washington. This role involves floating between multiple surgical sites to provide perioperative support across pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia recovery care. The ideal candidate is a clinically skilled OR nurse with strong experience in pre-op and post-op care, able to adapt to various surgical environments while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Active Washington RN license (required).
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent OR experience, including pre-op and post-op care (required).
  • Required Certifications (AHA): BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and perioperative workflows.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to float between multiple facilities and adapt to diverse surgical teams.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed).
  • Recent tuberculosis (TB) test required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and comprehensive preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care for surgical patients.
  • Prepare surgical suites by ensuring sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready for each case.
  • Serve as a circulating or scrub nurse during operative procedures as needed.
  • Monitor patient condition throughout the perioperative period, identifying and responding to changes promptly.
  • Support preoperative preparation, including patient education, IV initiation, and medication administration.
  • Manage post-anesthesia recovery, assess pain levels, and ensure stable discharge or transfer to inpatient units.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control, sterile technique, and facility protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to optimize procedural flow.
  • Float between designated surgical facilities as assigned to meet unit needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the facility’s electronic medical record system.
