About The Position

Build your Career. Make a Difference. Presbyterian is hiring a skilled RN to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an Outpatient Clinic. Common responsibilities include preparing the patient for the visit, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the provider with treatments and procedures, medication administration, support for clerical functions to include scheduling, referrals, authorization and in-basket support with the electronic medical records. Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.
  • Associate degree in nursing
  • BLS Certification required at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years hospital medical surgical, CCU or ICU nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken and patient responses.
  • May cover other areas of clinic based on need, triage, Mini Infusion, Main infusion
  • May cover for our Kaseman location or Rust location either by direct patient care or indirect via telephone triage.
  • Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
  • Provides supportive care and education to patients and their families, to include referrals and bereavement counseling.
  • Initiates, utilizes and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
  • Administers chemotherapy medication and other oncology treatments as prescribed by physician, or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
  • Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout episode of care.
  • Evaluates patient progression toward outcomes per unit standards and documents through EOSS etc.
  • Performs competently in emergency situations.
  • Perform other duties as required
