About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Oncology at Ogden Clinic is responsible for assisting healthcare providers in examining and treating cancer patients. This part-time position emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide effective care during chemotherapy and other treatments. The RN will also serve as a resource for Medical Assistants and LPNs, ensuring a supportive and professional environment while adhering to the clinic's mission and values.

Requirements

• Valid RN License in Utah.
• Experience in oncology nursing preferred but not required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and families.
• Knowledge of nursing principles and practices.

Nice To Haves

• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification or working towards it.
• Spanish language skills.
• Prior oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in examining and treating cancer patients.
• Collaborate with the cancer care team to provide effective care during chemotherapy and treatment for blood-related disorders.
• Provide health care education for cancer treatment and manage treatment-related side effects.
• Document patient information and treatment steps/results accurately.
• Initiate and monitor intravenous infusions, including chemotherapy and other medications.
• Help patients cope with their diagnosis and treatment, maintaining their dignity and autonomy.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and clinic policies.
