About The Position

Oncology is a 24 bed all private unit that is devoted to holistic care of cancer patients and their families. This challenging environment provides for development of critical thinking skills and head-to-toe assessments, including the care and administration of chemotherapy, pain management, and specialized cancer care. A basic understanding of dysrhythmias is required for oncology patients who may require cardiac monitoring. A multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and massage therapists provide support to the oncology patients. New Graduate Nurses are welcome.

Requirements

• Active Kentucky RN License.
• BCLS required.
• Chemo/ONS certification required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify patient needs and implement appropriate interventions.
• Establish and maintain a plan for the delivery of nursing care.
• Assure that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems.
• Perform technical aspects of care competently.
• Provide compassionate care while utilizing strong critical thinking skills.
• Act as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient's cancer journey.

Benefits
