The Adult Ambulatory Oncology Float Pool provides skilled and flexible clinical staffing across the full continuum of ambulatory oncology care . Float Pool team members are cross trained to support a variety of adult oncology specialties and care environments, including all outpatient clinics, and infusion centers. Staff are deployed based on operational needs and fluctuating staffing demands to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care delivery throughout the oncology service line. The ambulatory areas treat patients with a broad range of diagnoses along the continuum of their oncology care that include but are not limited to solid tumor medical and surgical oncology, gynecologic oncology , radiation oncology , neuro oncology and benign hematology. Patients with h ematologic malignancies such as leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and myelodysplastic syndrome are also treated. These patients often receive high-dose chemotherapy and biotherapy, with or without cellular therapies , including post allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplants as well as immune effector cell therapies. Many are immunocompromised and may experience severe infections, graft-versus-host disease, or other complex complications related to advanced treatments. These staff members also provide infusion services and support for innovative clinical programs, such as: Hepatic Arterial Infusion Pump Program Early Phase Clinical Trials Surgical Oncology programs OHSU Cellular Therapy Programs Care delivery is integrated with a multidisciplinary team that includes dietitians, pharmacists, social workers, case managers, and other oncology specialists, ensuring a holistic and coordinated approach to patient care. Maintains annual and just-in-time competencies and health compliance requirements as defined by the organization, unit leadership, regulatory agencies, and current evidence-based standards of practice. The Adult Ambulatory Oncology Float Pool supports a diverse range of adult oncology and hematology patients, including: Hematologic Malignancies : Leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome; patients receiving cellular therapies such as allogeneic/autologous transplant, CAR-T, tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy, donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI), and others. Medical Oncology : Sarcoma, head and neck, breast, lung, gastrointestinal/genitourinary (GI/GU), prostate, and other solid tumors. Classical Hematology : Bleeding disorders, clotting disorders, anemia, platelet and white blood cell disorders. Specialized Infusion Populations : Patients receive complex or investigational therapies that are uniquely available through the CHO Ambulatory Oncology Infusion Unit.
