About The Position

The Occupational Health Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in assessing risks, promoting wellness, and preventing illness and injury in the workplace. This position involves working closely with community businesses to ensure employee safety and health, while also representing Winona Health positively. The RN will conduct health screenings, educate employees on occupational risks, and coordinate care related to work injuries and exposures.

Requirements

  • Current Minnesota RN license.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel and Electronic Medical Record exposure.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (preferred).
  • Certification for performing audiometry and spirometry testing and drug screen collection (required within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Assess risks and promote wellness in the workplace.
  • Perform assessments of worksites to maintain health and safety standards.
  • Evaluate and suggest ways to reduce work-related injuries and promote employee safety.
  • Collaborate with the OH team to provide comprehensive evaluations and treatments.
  • Educate employees on occupational risks, safety, and injury prevention.
  • Complete and coordinate health screenings, including vital signs checks and drug testing.
  • Evaluate patients with work injuries by obtaining medical and occupational histories.
  • Document care provided to patients and coordinate care as ordered by providers.
  • Assist with laboratory functions in the OH service as needed.
  • Work closely with employers to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
