This unit is located within Hillcrest Hospital’s Labor and Delivery Unit. When an expected mother arrives in the primary ED, they are triaged and directed to the correct path of care. Many will be taken directly to a dedicated OB area. By doing this the wait times will be shorter, and the staff is specially trained in obstetrics and women can be seen by a staff OB/Gyn practitioner. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing patients with exceptional care, from initial admission to discharge with baby. You will also benefit from education in comprehensive electronic fetal monitoring, breastfeeding support and Kangaroo Care alongside a dedicated team of Maternal-Fetal Physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works night shift from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. + on call with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
