About The Position

Logan Health is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join their OB department in Kalispell, MT. The role involves providing care for antepartum, laboring, and postpartum mothers and their newborns, with opportunities to circulate in the OR for cesarean sections. The OB department is a primary high-risk delivery site in Northwest Montana, delivering over 650 babies annually. This position requires a commitment to patient care and teamwork in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Current Montana RN license or multi-state compact license with authorization to practice in Montana.
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a similar position within a medical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology, and principles of professional nursing practice.
  • Healthcare Provider (HCP) CPR and/or BLS certification required.
  • Understanding of confidentiality laws, including HIPAA guidelines.
  • Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and instruments used in a medical office.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and possess critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in assigned area(s) preferred.
  • Additional certifications may be required as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Possess considerable knowledge of the behavior and needs of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care to OB patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation for Labor and Delivery and Postpartum patients.
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process.
  • Maintain nursing standards of care and respond to changing workloads and patient conditions.
  • Transcribe and implement provider orders and treatments accurately and efficiently.
  • Document all encounters with patients seeking health advice according to organizational standards.
  • Provide individual instruction and education to patients and families concerning health and medical needs.
  • Assess and anticipate the needs of the patient, coordinating necessary interventions as defined by policy and provider orders.
  • Exhibit thorough practice of infection control procedures as applicable to the assigned area.
