About The Position

The Observation Unit is a 35-bed unit that provides acute care for issues ranging from cardiac, to general surgery, to behavioral health. These patients receive holistic care that reflect the values and mission of Carle Foundation Hospital. Patients' goal length of stay is 24-48 hours. The unit is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where nursing staff work closely with physician partners and ancillary team members to achieve the best outcomes for patients. The unit has a robust Partnership Committee that meets monthly and includes a unit-based educator, 2 nurse supervisors, charge nurses, and a discharge nurse.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 1 year of experience.
• Current nursing license and certifications as required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Provide acute care for patients in the Observation Unit.
• Perform nursing skills such as Foley/IV/NG insertions.
• Utilize nursing prioritization and IV pumps.
• Monitor patients using telemetry.
• Ensure patient connection and holistic care.
