About The Position

Bethany St. Joseph Care Center is now hiring for a full-time Nurse Manager (Infection Control Nurse). This position works from 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday, with availability to be on-call when Director of Nursing is unavailable. The Nurse Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing clinical operations within the nursing home. This position includes specialized oversight in Infection Prevention and Control. The Nurse Manager ensures that resident care is delivered in accordance with best practices, regulatory guidelines, and the facility’s standards for quality and safety. Nurse Managers will plan, assess, implement and evaluate care of assigned group of residents in collaboration with the BSJ Care Center interdisciplinary team as well as physicians and outside vendors as needed to promote the highest quality care and safety of all residents. They will also plan, organize and evaluate administrative and professional functions of the nursing department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
  • At least 2–3 years of nursing experience in long-term care or post-acute care required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in one or more specialty areas (Wound Care, MDS, Infection Control).
  • Infection Control: CIC, IP-BC, or equivalent
  • Strong leadership, communication, clinical, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in EMR and documentation systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead change initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, ensuring high-quality resident care.
  • Facilitate clinical team meetings, care plan reviews, and interdisciplinary communication.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Contribute to Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
  • Manage the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP).
  • Conduct surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and outbreak tracking.
  • Educate staff on proper infection control procedures, PPE use, and hand hygiene.
  • Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and local health department standards.
