The manager demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgement, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act, physician's orders, recognized nursing techniques, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies.

Requirements

  • Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Current Neonate Resuscitate (NRP) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Current Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification or must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery (L&D) clinical nursing experience in an acute care Hospital setting.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a full time Charge Nurse/ Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Management.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and provide nursing care to patients in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgement in patient care.
  • Lead and manage the nursing team in the Labor and Delivery unit.
