Requirements

• Associate Degree
• NY RN License
• Aha BLS
• 2 yrs of Labor and Delivery experience

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers educational programs for Labor & Delivery nurses and support staff, including orientation, competency assessments, simulation training, and continuing education in maternal–newborn care.
• Provides clinical instruction and mentorship to nurses on labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal procedures to ensure safe, evidence -based patient care practices.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurse managers, and interdisciplinary teams to identify learning needs, update clinical policies, and implement new standards of care aligned with hospital and state regulations.
• Monitors and evaluates staff performance and clinical competencies, providing constructive feedback and individualized training plans to enhance clinical outcomes and staff development.
• Leads quality improvement initiatives related to maternal safety, fetal monitoring, infection prevention, and emergency response (e.g., postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal resuscitation).
