About The Position

About the Program Telecare’s Multnomah Crisis Assessment and Treatment Center (CATC) is a 16-bed inpatient facility that provides short-term, acute psychiatric care to adults experiencing a mental health crisis. Our program focuses on rapid stabilization and recovery, offering trauma-informed, person-centered treatment in a safe and supportive environment. As the Nurse Coordinator , you will lead the nursing team in delivering evidence-based psychiatric care, supporting crisis intervention, de-escalation, and recovery planning. This role is critical in maintaining a therapeutic milieu and ensuring nursing services are aligned with psychiatric best practices and regulatory standards. Position Summary The Nurse Coordinator is a licensed Registered Nurse who supervises the nursing team and provides direct psychiatric nursing services in an inpatient setting. You will be responsible for overseeing medication administration, leading clinical decision-making in collaboration with the psychiatrist and multidisciplinary team, and ensuring that all nursing practices meet the highest standards of mental health care. Schedule: Full Time Salaried | Hours and days vary | Approx. 8:00am - 5:00pm | Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday Expected starting wage range is $118,995.46 - $147,000.20. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school and 4 years of experience (including 2 years in psychiatric nursing); OR a BSN and 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience; OR an MSN and 1 year of psychiatric experience
  • At least 1 year in a supervisory role
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license , active auto insurance (must include your name), and willingness to use your personal vehicle to transport clients
  • Expertise in psychiatric assessment and crisis intervention
  • Skilled in trauma-informed care and therapeutic communication
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and supervisory abilities
  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to support a culture of safety, respect, and recovery
  • Knowledge of psychiatric medications, symptoms, and mental health disorders
  • Commitment to the principles of person-centered, recovery-oriented treatment

Nice To Haves

  • MSN degree or currently enrolled in an MSN program
  • 6 years of total nursing experience with at least 4 years in psychiatric care and 2 years in a leadership role
  • Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric or acute behavioral health setting

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all psychiatric nursing care in a 24/7 acute care environment
  • Supervise RNs, LPNs, and other designated staff, fostering a cohesive and skilled nursing team
  • Ensure safe and effective medication administration and monitoring, including managing side effects and supporting medication adherence
  • Lead crisis intervention efforts and support staff in implementing non-coercive, trauma-informed de-escalation techniques
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and other treatment team members on care planning and discharge coordination
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal psychiatric nursing regulations, including documentation, infection control, and safety standards
  • Provide direct nursing care, including psychiatric assessments and emergency interventions as needed
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead efforts to maintain a high standard of clinical care
  • Support the ongoing training and development of nursing staff
  • Serve as a member of the program's leadership team, contributing to policy development, staffing plans, and operational strategy
  • Participate in the 24-hour on-call rotation for nursing leadership coverage
  • Assist with client admissions, discharges, and coordination of community resources
