About The Position

Our Float Pool nursing position offers the unique opportunity to make an impact across multiple areas of care at ChildServe. Nurses in this role provide support where it’s needed most floating between our Inpatient Complex Medical units, Rehabilitation unit, and Medical Group Home. This position is ideal for a flexible, skilled nurse who enjoys variety, collaboration, and caring for children , adolescents and young adults with complex medical needs. To learn more: Nursing at ChildServe - ChildServe Schedule /Benefits 3 shifts per week, 6pm-6am, every 4 th weekend. Benefit eligible , including medical, dental, vision plans, retirement with company match , and generous PTO accrual , including 16 hours of PTO front-loaded How You’ll Make an Impact Within the nursing scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process.

Requirements

• Current valid license as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• One year of experience as a RN or one year of experience working at ChildServe in place of RN experience.
• Active BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing and speaking the English language.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
• Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery.
• Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.
