The purpose of this position is to harness the skills of an experienced RN Hospital who recently retired but has a desire to leverage their extensive knowledge, while supporting the nursing care team by alleviating administrative task-based responsibilities to enhance patient care delivery. The RN will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocol in numerous units, departments and/or locations. A caregiver in this position works variable shifts (4, 6, 8, 12 hour shifts)

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Three years of experience in an RN Hospital position at the Cleveland Clinic immediately prior to retirement
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Provide coaching, teaching, and educational material as appropriate.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ admission planning, discharge planning and educational needs.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update and revise plans of care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
