Requirements

• Valid NC RN License or Compact State RN License required.
• Experience required.
• BCLS and PALS required.

Responsibilities

• The NICU RN is responsible for providing highly specialized and compassionate care to critically ill newborns, while providing emotional support to parents, helping them navigate the challenges of having a newborn in the intensive care setting.
• The NICU RN works closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists and other nurses within the NICU setting.
• Evaluates the family's response to care and teaching and revises the plan of care as needed.
• Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members.
