POSITION SUMMARY The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse plays a crucial role within the medical team, delivering continuous care for premature and critically ill newborns, as well as providing support for their families. The responsibilities of a NICU Nurse encompass addressing the basic needs of infants, including diaper changes and feeding, while coordinating medical treatments in collaboration with NICU physicians and neonatal nurse practitioners. Additionally, the NICU Nurse offers emotional support and comfort to the infants and their families during challenging times. A successful NICU Nurse should possess a compassionate and empathetic disposition and exhibit the ability to perform effectively under pressure in a high-stress environment. Furthermore, the nurse must be adept at coordinating various treatment protocols and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of neonatal healthcare professionals. A thorough understanding of the intricate NICU environment, crucial for the care of at-risk newborns, is essential for this role.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • Current and valid RN license from AL
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation required within 3 months of hire
  • A compassionate and empathetic disposition
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a high-stress environment
  • Adept at coordinating various treatment protocols and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of neonatal healthcare professionals
  • A thorough understanding of the intricate NICU environment, crucial for the care of at-risk newborns

  • 1 year preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • 2 years of NICU experience
