RN NICU/Mother Baby Weekend Nights
About The Position
Our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has 10 beds and provides advanced, specialized support for newborns who need additional monitoring or intermediate‑level care, allowing families to remain together within the same unit. Together, these features reflect our commitment to safety, compassion, and high‑quality maternal and newborn care. JOB SUMMARY This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards. NICU Nurse is specifically responsible for the care of the well and ill newborn who may require neonatal intensive care services. Birth Center and Pediatrics are considered "sister" units and staff float are expected to float between these units.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa required.
- Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Provider-American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer-American Red Cross) prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.
- Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines
- Completes Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Previous experience in well or ill newborn, and / or obstetric care and / or acute care preferred.
