Transition position provides guided orientation to help integrate and apply medical knowledge and sharpen technical skills for newly graduated Registered Nurses. Accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

  • Utilize the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care.
  • Integrate and apply medical knowledge and sharpen technical skills.
  • Work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to situations that may arise with high risk or diverse patient populations.
  • Organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and patients.
  • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required.
  • Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school program required (must be within the previous 12 months of the SHS New Graduate RN Program start date).
  • Successful completion of SHS ECG Monitoring class or an equivalent course approved by management required within six (6) months of hire.
  • ACLS required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Orthopedic and Bariatric experience preferred.
  • Relocation Allowance (up to $5,000)
