About The Position

This position allows applicants to apply to all hospitals in the Kaiser Northwest Region with our Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers for the September 29, 2025 cohort of the Nurse Residency Program. Applicants accepted into this training position will enter the KPNW Nurse Residency Program. Before applying, please read all the following information carefully. NOTE: This position is only for nurses with less than 6 months of paid RN work experience. During the interview process applicants will have the ability to indicate which hospital(s) and unit(s) they wish to apply to.

Requirements

  • Active Oregon Nursing License upon hire.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • 0-6 months of paid work experience as a registered nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required upon hire/transfer.
  • Computer keyboarding skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education needs and discharge planning needs.
  • Identify deviations from normal on routine lab diagnostic tests and reassess patients throughout hospitalization.
  • Develop an individual nursing plan of care sensitive to the developmental needs of the patient.
  • Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other hospital and clinic departments and community agencies.
  • Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for the management of the medical and/or surgical patient.
  • Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patient's response to treatment.
