About The Position

The RN New Grad Med/Surg Tele position is a full-time role within the Network Float Pool at HonorHealth, where the nurse will provide care across multiple locations. This position is designed for new graduate registered nurses who will float to various departments, primarily in the Med/Surg and Telemetry units. The role emphasizes creating a multi-dimensional care experience for patients, with a focus on professional development and teamwork. The RN will be responsible for patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution.
  • 1 year of RN experience for all Float Positions.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) State and/or Compact State Licensure in Arizona upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a float pool or similar role.
  • Knowledge of stroke care protocols and pathways.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics.
  • Record patients' medical history and symptoms, perform diagnostic tests, and analyze results.
  • Administer treatments and medications, including IV lines and therapies, while observing and documenting patient progress.
  • Establish and contribute to care plans that are individualized and evidence-based.
  • Educate patients and families on managing illnesses, post-treatment care, and self-administration of medications.
  • Precept new staff and students, assisting them in completing competency skills.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care delivery.
  • Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and care plans to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Integrate ethical principles and cultural diversity considerations into nursing practice.
