About The Position

PeaceHealth is seeking a RN for our Neurology unit! Part Time, 0.8 FTE Night Shift position (8 hour shifts) The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $49.30 - $77.46. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. T may be more than one opening on this posting. Essential Functions Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs. Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards. Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstratedpetence. Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development. Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program. Performs other duties as assigned. Nursing care of ischemic, TIAs, and non-traumatic hemorrhagic strokes. Performance of NIHSS, nursing bedside swallow screen. Perform stroke patient education utilizing health literacy education principles. Familiar with stroke guideline driven stroke discharge medications.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required
  • Minimum one year RN experience required: in an acute care facility or (for RN residents) successfulpletion of a training course/orientation and standardpetencies within six months of hire.
  • State of Oregon nursing license
  • Upon Hire Basic Life Support
  • NIHSS within six months of hire or transfer date
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs (Required)
  • Seemunity specific document for each Unit/Department required credentials (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required)
  • Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required)
  • Basicputer skills (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Acute care and/or neurology experience is preferred.
