We are looking for an experienced ICU Rn to join our Neuro Trauma ICU! Full time, 0.9 FTE Night shift position (12 hour shifts) The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $49.30 - $77.46. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required (BSN preferred)
- Minimum of six months critical care experience in an acute care facility within the last five years required, or (for RN residents) successful completion of an approved critical care training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire.
- State of Oregon nursing license
- Upon Hire Basic Life Support
- ACLS and NIHSS required within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs. (Required)

- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment. (Required)
- Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures. (Required)
- Basic computer skills. (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Specialty certification
- Minimum of one year RN experience in an Intensive Care unit specializing in Cardiac, Neuro or Trauma preferred.
- TCAR (preferred) or TNCC required within 12 months of hire/transfer date as a one-time certification requirement while in the department.
- CCRN, CMC, SCRN, TCRN
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
- Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
- Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
- Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Management of ventriculostomy, EVD, and ICP.
- Nursing care of patients with non-traumatic ICH, non-traumatic SAH, seizures.
- Nursing care of patients with multisystem trauma.
- Nursing care of patients post tPA, thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, carotid artery stenting and intra-cranial stenting.
- Management of blood pressure abnormalities with parenteral vasoactive agents.
- Completion of complex neurological assessments/scales.
- Nursing care for medical and complex illness requiring frequent intervention.
