Abbott Northwestern Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our 12-bed Neurological Intensive Care Unit. This specialized ICU cares for complex medical and surgical neurological patients requiring continuous, intensive monitoring and expert care. Key Position Details: Tier 1: 6 months of current Critical Care/ICU RN experience required at Abbott Northwestern Tier 2: 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience required Tier 3: New Graduate-Completion of a ICU Capstone or ICU rotation as a nursing student or experience in the ICU setting as a NA/other patient care role is required. New Grads would be part of the Abbott Northwestern Critical Care New Grad Pipeline Program. .9 FTE (72 hours per two-week pay period) 12-hour day and night shifts Every third weekend rotation Job Description: Nursing is the diagnosis and treatment of human response to actual or potential health problems. This includes establishing an intentional therapeutic relationship between a registered nurse and a patient and family. As a leader and the integrator of care, the professional nurse has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for planning, coordinating and evaluating the patient’s care needs. Provides specialized care to patients who are severely ill or injured. May practice in an intensive care unit or in a care area that requires the expertise of the critical care nurse.
