Requirements
- Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
- One (1) year of RN experience is hired after August 2025. Existing staff in this title are grandfathered from the experience requirement.

Responsibilities
- Provides clinical patient care within the scope of a Registered Nurse, including assessment of condition, goal setting, and nursing actions to meet the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient.
- Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses patient self-report and symptoms of pain promptly, utilizing an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment.
- Demonstrates an understanding of medications about action and side effects. Report pertinent information to the appropriate individual.
- Educates patients and support person(s) about medications.
- Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.
- Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements policies and procedures of MU Health Care and assigned nursing unit.
- Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (i.e. resident physician, ancillary support teams) and records those observations accurately and concisely.
- Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing unit.
- Participates in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.
- May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
