Founded in 1955, Dignity Health - Northridge Hospital Medical Center is a 394-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located. Serving over 80,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II Trauma Center, heart care, cancer care and women’s health. One California The new NICU Unit contains a total of 17 beds. These beds are grouped into two pods of four beds each, seven individual NICU rooms, and two isolation rooms. Each individual NICU room estimates between 150-190 square feet. The new pods are approximately 600 square feet. The NICU was also renovated to meet the current CCS & Title 22 requirements for Intensive and Intermediate NICU bed space. Adheres to established Hospital/departmental policies and procedures, objectives, Quality Assessment and Improvement Program, legal, safety, environmental, infection control standards, Nurse Practices Act and Patient's Bill of Rights. Applies clinical knowledge and expertise for coordinating patient care by regularly planning and evaluating the care of patients. Establishes and maintains professional and collaborative relationships with other staff members, physicians, patients, patient family members, and the public as appropriate, while assuring confidentiality of all patient information. Demonstrates effective nursing judgement and a working knowledge of the nursing process. Provides guidance to interdisciplinary team members by supervising nursing interventions and assisting with related tasks. Provides leadership by establishing priorities and coordinating nursing care. This position is represented by SEIU L121 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement

Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year current acute care registered nursing experience in specialty area, upon hire
• Minimum 1 year experience in NICU
• Current and Active Registered Nurse; CA
• AHA Basic Life Support
• AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program
• Fire Safety, within 90 Days

Nice To Haves

• Experience with EHR (Cerner, MediTech, etc)
