The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents. Collaborates with resident and family, other inter-disciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting. Cares for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience.
  • Minimum of 400 hours of experience as a RN (or LPN) at another facility.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.

  • Certification may be required depending on specialty or service area.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to residents.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
  • Demonstrate competency within the full scope of nursing expertise.
  • Care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, and provide resident education.
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • Provide assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe administration of resident care.
