About The Position

Woman’s Mother/Baby Unit incorporates the couplet care model to provide exceptional care to postpartum patients and their newborns. Our 84-bed unit is dedicated to delivering safe, quality-driven, patient- and family-centered care that is individualized, equitable, and inclusive. Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing is required
Current licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing is required

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized interdisciplinary plans of care for postpartum, term, and healthy late preterm newborns.
Utilize evidence-based best maternity and infant care practices, critical thinking, and sound judgment in the provision of patient care.
Provide education and emotional support that is appropriate to the patient’s age, culture, condition, and unique needs/circumstances.
Direct/coordinate nursing care in accordance with professional nursing practice standards (including, but not limited to the Louisiana Nurse Practice Act, ANA’s Nursing Scope and Standards or Practice, ANA’s Code of Ethics for Nurses, regulatory agency guidelines, and patient care standards and their associated competencies and skills).
