Kettering Health Miamisburg, formerly Sycamore Medical Center, is a full-service hospital located minutes west of the Dayton Mall on Miamisburg-Centerville Road off I-75 in Miamisburg, Ohio. The cornerstone services for KH Miamisburg have been Bariatric surgeries and Orthopedic care. Expanded services include emergency care, sleep center, mammography, breast MRI, cardiac catheterization lab, wound center and DEXA scanning. The facility has 142 beds and has been awarded with 100 Top Hospital by IBM Watson Health for the 10th time in 2019. In 2020, KH Miamisburg received an “A” from the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States. It is also accredited by the American College of Emergency Physicians as a Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department and has received several awards from Healthgrades, including Outstanding Patient Experience Award (2017-2019), America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Prostate Surgery Award (2020), and Joint Replacement Excellence Award (2020).

Requirements

  • Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN, ACEN, or CCNE) if they are a new graduate nurse.
  • Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred (must be completed within 5 years of hire).
  • A nurse who is returning to the acute care setting after five or more years may be required to provide evidence of successful completion of a refresher course.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS, NRP, PALS as determined by unit scope of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other health care providers.
  • Accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.
  • Acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities.
  • Delivers nursing care that reflects the missions, vision, values, and philosophies of the organization and nursing departments.
