About The Position
Overview: Department: Med Surg Neuro Location: Piedmont Atlanta Hospital Schedule: Day Shift 3 12's (7am - 7pm) Competitive Sign on Bonus offered Our Neuro Acute Care unit (14A / 14B) is located on the top floor of the Marcus Tower, we have computers, vital sign machines and black-out shades in each patients room as well as ceiling lifts in half of the rooms. Staff will receive specific education related to stroke and spine patients because we are a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Spine Center of Excellence. The patient population includes stroke, brain tumor, post-op craniotomy, post-op spine surgeries, multiple sclerosis and seizure disorders.
Requirements
- MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate of a nursing program
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
Responsibilities
- The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients.
- He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability.
- The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
