About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry Float provides comprehensive patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role involves coordinating total nursing care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and delivering patient and family education while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Requirements
- 2+ years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- Ability to perform own phlebotomy
- Strong IV therapy skills
- Active RN License (Massachusetts)
- Current BLS certification
- Completion of Medical/Surgical IV Medication Module
- Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Exam
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Nice To Haves
- Travel nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care using the nursing process
- Monitor and manage patients on telemetry
- Administer medications safely and per protocol
- Provide patient and family education
- Document accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Manage IV therapy, chest drainage devices, epidural analgesia, and cardiac medications
- Care for post-operative, orthopedic, geriatric, and terminally ill patients
- Respond effectively to emergency and urgent situations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Comply with all clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
