South Pointe Hospital’s 7th Floor Med/Surg and Observation Unit focuses on healing and surgery while providing comprehensive care and services to adults with a wide variety of diagnoses, such as chest pain, stomach pain, or generalized weakness. With such variety, no two days are the same, but you will be surrounded every day by a team of long-standing caregivers who welcome you with open arms. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers with providing exceptional care to patients from initial introduction to discharge. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross.
  • One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
