About the Unit The Medical-Oncology Unit at Corewell Health South is a 36-bed unit specializing in the care of adult patients with medical, cardiovascular, surgical, oncological, hospice and palliative needs. This diverse patient population offers team members a rich and rewarding environment for continuous learning and professional growth. Our unit provides comprehensive care throughout patient admission-from initial diagnosis through treatment, recovery, or palliation. About Corewell Health South – Lakeland Hospitals Corewell Health South is a leading healthcare provider in Southwest Michigan, comprising three hospital systems dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient centered care. Scope of Work The Registered Nurse (RN) at Corewell Health South practices within the American Nurses Association (ANA) scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality, patient- and family- centered care. Through comprehensive assessment, planning , implementation, evaluation, and discharge coordination, the RN ensures that care is tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each patient and their families. By actively partnering with patients and families, the RN integrates their input into the plan of care and develops personalized teaching strategies to support education, empowerment, and optimal health outcomes. This collaborative approach fosters trust, enhances patient satisfaction, and promotes holistic healing across the continuum of care.
