Fairview Hospital's Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) provides treatment to patients suffering from various medical problems and diagnoses, such as sepsis, respiratory problems, DKA, suicide monitoring, overdose monitoring, post-cardiac arrest hypothermia, altered mental status, and stroke. Some of the most common procedures performed by the nursing staff in the MICU include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubations, and central line placement. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers with providing exceptional care to patients from initial introduction to discharge. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. A caregiver in this position works rotating day/night shifts from 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
