About The Position

As our Medical Surgical Nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health, you’ll excel in your nursing career by providing care to patients admitted to our unit. Most of your patients are funneled in from other units providing you with the opportunity to build on your education and experience in specialized service lines such as cardiac, telemetry, orthopedics, neurology, critical care, surgical services, and emergency. Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene) Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices) Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms with necessary Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury) Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e., CNAs) in caring for patients

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Active RN license in state of Nebraska or nurse licensure compact.
Basic Life Support(BLS) through American Heart Association

Responsibilities
