About the Department The Hospital Nursing Department supports the mission, vision, and values of Lakewood Health System. We are a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital serving medical, surgical, and swing bed patients and their families. Our team consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Health Unit Coordinators, and Nursing Assistants. The hospital nursing team develops and implements plans of care based on provider orders and nursing care planning to meet patient goals, ensure health and safety, and promote optimal outcomes and quality of life. Mission for Position To deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care through skilled assessment, compassionate collaboration, and evidence-based practice that promotes positive outcomes, patient satisfaction, and a safe healing environment. Position Summary The Med/Surg Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care across the continuum from admission to discharge. This role collaborates closely with providers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care that meets regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. The RN administers medications and treatments, monitors patient conditions, responds to emergencies, and supports clinical procedures while maintaining accurate and timely documentation. Effective communication with patients, families, and care team members is essential to promote continuity of care and positive patient outcomes. The RN also provides guidance to support staff, participates in professional development, and upholds infection control and safety protocols. Through critical thinking and collaboration, the Med/Surg RN contributes to a safe, efficient, and compassionate healing environment. Position Type This is a full-time position with our Medical/Surgical unit. The position includes a day/night rotation, every third weekend, and rotating holidays.
